We recently embarked upon a 12,000 mile round trip to Xiamen, the hub for all things stone in China. When we left we had an idea in our heads of what we were looking for but nothing could prepare us for the great bounty that we would return with.
We have been working with quartz composite for many years now, but we feel that we have always been held back by the Jumbo slab size of 3200mm x 1600mm, this often means extra joints, reduction in Island sizes and in some cases a complete change in material. However on our travels we discovered a Mega Jumbo quartz slab produced in a colossal size of 3500mm x 2000mm, we quickly realised that our prayers had been answered. Not only had we found the large format we had been searching for but in a quality that matches the materials coming from mainland Europe, with a strong and consistent supply chain ensuring we can bring this material to market for many years to come.
The other key quality of the new Mega Jumbo Quartz, is the range of colours available. As we are all aware marble effect is the current favourite trend of designers and end users alike, which is why we were delighted to find out that our favourite new product comes in a variety of different marble effect as well as the plainer colours our customers have come to expect.
Charlie Davison, General Manager said “Over the last 15 years Stoneworx has always strived to be at the forefront of all things innovation when it comes to service, materials and machinery. We have spent a lot of time investing in machinery to better serve you, our client, and now it’s time to invest in the materials, to take both Stoneworx and our industry forward. We are delighted to be able to share this new product with you and I cannot personally wait to start seeing your faces when you see just how colossal these slabs are”
As a company we strongly believe this new product is where the future of the quartz market lies, which is why, once again, we are delighted to be at the forefront of innovation and development. Not only will we be fabricating our own jobs from this fantastic new large format product, but we will be supplying and distributing to other fabricators throughout the UK. Why be selfish and keep such an amazing product to ourselves when we can share it with the rest of the KBB market across the UK.
As well as finding what we believe to be the next big thing in the industry we also had some fun in China, including taking in some of the local culture, visiting Buddhist temples and our director, Richard took a shine to eating cockroaches as a bar snack (not to everyone’s taste).
Keep your eyes peeled on our social media over the coming weeks as we release more and more information about this amazing new large format quartz...
